Mr. SM Anisuzzaman

Mr. S. M. Anisuzzaman is the Deputy Managing Director of Bank Asia PLC. overseeing Logistics, Project Initiatives & Research and Strategy Departments/Divisions. He joined the bank on October 21, 2015, as an Executive Vice President and later served as the Senior Executive Vice President from January 1, 2022. He has also served as the Company Secretary and Head of Research & Strategy for quite some time.

Mr. Anisuzzaman started his professional career in The City Bank PLC. in 1996 as a Probationary Officer. He later worked at IFIC Bank PLC., Prime Bank PLC. and BRAC Bank PLC., gaining diverse banking experience. Since joining Bank Asia, he has led the Research & Strategy Division and, starting from July 1, 2018, also served as the Company Secretary. Later, he has been leading Logistics, Project Initiatives and Research & Strategy functions.

Mr. Anisuzzaman is one of the atypical, knowledge-based and thoughtful financial services professionals who have a blend of hands-on experience in core/sustainable banking on one hand and relevant corporate governance, transformation, research, strategic planning, consultancy, academic and marketing & communication, project management, human resources and general services experience on the other hand in his long career.

Mr. Anisuzzaman holds undergraduate & graduate degrees in Economics from Jahangirnagar University, an MBA from the Institute of Business Administration (IBA), University of Dhaka, and an M.S. in Finance jointly from the University of Manchester and Alliance Manchester Business School, United Kingdom. He authored couple of relevant research publications in internationally referred journals and also co-authored a book on ‘A New SME Financing Model’ for KATALYST, a joint venture of CIDA, Swisscontact, GiZ, UKAID, and Dutch Govt.

Known for his dynamic leadership, business acumen, and unwavering commitment to the Bank’s success, Mr. Anisuzzaman continues to play a key role in the ongoing growth, transformation and strategic direction of Bank Asia.
